Daryl Hannah Heading to WH Oil-Sands Protest

Actress and environmental advocate Daryl Hannah says she’s joining a protest outside the White House against the planned Keystone XL pipeline. Hannah says the environmental movement needs to engage in "courageous acts of civil disobedience" to stop projects like the pipeline, which would bring oil-sands crude from the Canadian province of Alberta to US refineries on the Gulf Coast. Hannah, whose movie credits include Blade Runner, Splash and Kill Bill Vol. 1, spoke to energyNOW! correspondent Lee Patrick Sullivan on August 20 from the sidelines of the American Renewable Energy Day 2011 conference in Aspen, Colorado. Dozens of protestors have been arrested since the demonstration began outside the White House on August 20.
